- Peak District – the Derbyshire Hotel is just a stone’s throw from this, England’s first national park. It covers more than 500 square miles and boasts splendid scenery and sights, with much wildlife and a number of other cultural fascinations. - Matlock bath – the town of Matlock is known for its warm springs which were discovered at the end of the 17th century. The nearby village of Matlock Bath benefited at this time from the much-welcomed boost in tourism. The village is set next to the River Derwent and is placed near to a sheer cliff.
- City of Caves – the city of Nottingham, located 15 miles to the south of the Derbyshire Hotel, is home to a network of caves which sprawl out under the city’s streets and buildings. The caves have been adapted and altered over the years, being used as a refuge from the world above. They are now open as a visitor attraction, for guests to explore and venture through, experiencing something of the city’s past and culture.
- Calke Abbey – the national trust mansion is set in the town of Ticknall near to Derby, approximately 15 miles to the south of the hotel. It features baroque architecture and is located within Calke Park, a 240 hectare national nature reserve. There are various collections and other items from the past which are placed around the building, while underneath there are secret tunnels and outside there is a secret garden.
