About The Derbyshire Hotel
The Derbyshire Hotel lies just to the north of neighbouring cities Derby and Nottingham, near to Alfreton, and offers modern accommodation and business facilities a short distance from the nearby motorway. The Derbyshire, until recently known as the Renaissance Derby Nottingham Hotel, is approximately 15 miles from both Derby and Nottingham, while is merely a couple of minutes from junction 28 of the M1 and so access if straight forward. More specifically, it is to be found in the village of South Normanton and brings together elements of contemporary design with a comfortable and friendly environment.
Perhaps slightly unusually for a Principal Hayley venue, there are no traditional buildings at the Derbyshire and there are no sizeable outdoor grounds; something we have become accustomed to at the likes of the Selsdon Park near Croydon, the Eastwood Hall near Nottingham and the Ettington Chase to the south-east of Stratford-upon-Avon. All is not lost however; variety is indeed said to be the spice of life, and so the hotel’s modern facilities, its self-proclaimed dedicated approach to customer service and its bright design all work to ensure this is one of the area’s top places to stay. What’s more, the four-star hotel is just a stone’s throw away from the scenery of the country’s first national park – the Peak District.
Derbyshire Hotel Access
While the hotel is conveniently-placed in regard to the nearby road networks, it is also close to the train station at Alfreton, while the East Midlands Airport is approximately 30 minutes away. Guests will no doubt be pleased to find out that car parking is available on site and at no extra cost.
Bedrooms and Dining at the Derbyshire Hotel
The hotel’s stylish appearance transcends into each area of the venue, including the 150 or so bedrooms. The rooms contain a number of items such as wired internet, climate control and luxury bedding. A handful of the rooms are of an executive standard.
The Derbyshire’s restaurant is open for each of the three meal times and offers a friendly service to complement its range of specialities. Meanwhile, there is also a bar which serves light meals and various drinks, while the second restaurant is ideal for private dining and uses only the freshest ingredients.
Conferencing and Leisure at the Derbyshire Hotel
There are 14 meeting and event rooms of differing shapes and sizes which can be used for various conference activities. The largest of the function rooms is able to host more than 200 people, while there are also seminar rooms and other medium-sized facilities. All the necessary equipment is available to ensure a smoothly run conference or meeting. There are also rooms specifically set aside for wedding celebrations and ceremonies.
While there is plenty to do in the surrounding area, with Derby, Nottingham and the Peak District all nearby, the Derbyshire has some of its own facilities to help you both relax and keep fit. There is a gym as well as a pool, a sauna, a spa, a Jacuzzi and a steam room, designed to help you unwind during your time in the region.
